Kathleen K. 'Kandy' Arbogast Barksdale

BURLEY – Kathleen K. “Kandy” Arbogast Barksdale, 62, of Burley, and formerly of Twin Falls; a loving wife and mother of three children, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021.

Kathleen, Kandy to most, was born in Rupert, Idaho on June 19, 1959, to Ted and Lorna Arbogast. She graduated from Lennox High School in Inglewood, California. Kandy married Randy K. Barksdale in 1983, and they had three children, Larry T., Karen L. and Debra M. Barksdale.

Kandy had a love for children and educating. She worked in the Twin Falls School District as a paraeducator while attending college to become a teacher. She also worked at numerous childcare facilities in the Magic Valley and was always ready to keep kids learning or entertained with craft projects. She also loved spending time with her family and camping.

Kandy was preceded in death by her husband, Randy; her father, Ted; and a brother, Greg. She is survived by her mother, Lorna; brother, Jeff; her three children, Larry (Desiree), Karen, and Debra; three grandchildren, Gregory, Lucas, Sallie; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Twin Falls 24th Ward, located at 229 Park Ave., in Twin Falls, with Bishop Andrew Swensen officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
